Repurposed BIC Pen Daisy Vase

Something about this design looks illicit but it is nothing more than a ball point pen turned vase. The shaft of an ordinary BIC ball point pen is heated to a state where the plastic becomes malleable (once the innards of the pen are removed). At this point it is hand blown in the same fashion as glass to produce a little bubble reservoir/base forming a perfect desktop vase. This gem comes from design/artist duo Jess Giffin and Jim Termeer. I’m sure we could think of some other paraphernalia to make but I’m going to stick with the vase. Check them out the Giffin’ Termeer Daisy Vase at Design Bloom.
